Ashford Environmental Services Limited are the UK’s leading commissioning and water treatment specialist, providing an integrated “one stop shop” service to industry and commerce.  Established in early 1997, Ashford carries out projects throughout the UK and has field staff in excess of 150.

With the inception of the newsletter I thought it would be a good idea to publish the Company’s business plan.

In January 2012 we decided that due to the continued progress and development of the Company we should sign up for the Environmental standard, ISO 14001:2004.

Welcome to the first edition of Ashford News, the company newsletter. As most of you work on site we thought this would be a good way to keep you up to date with current affairs at Ashford Environmental Services Limited.

2012 was a tough year for most of us and as a company Ashford has finally felt the turndown with a 9% reduction in turnover, the first drop in 16 years of trading. This year is looking much better however, with new orders already topping the £5M mark for 2013/ 2014.

Secured projects include the £520M build fifty-four storey Leadenhall Building (aka the Cheese-grater); 20 Fenchurch Street (aka the walkie-talkie), the 37 storey "building with more up top"; the £600M Heathrow Terminal T2B, which will add 16 new aircraft stands and 10,000 cubic metres of retail, CIP lounges and ops accommodation as part of the £2bn investment by BAA; an £80M private hospital in Maidstone for the Kent Institute of Medicine and Surgery (KIMS); Blackfriars Tower, the first phase of the £70M development at 240 Blackfriars Road; and last but not least, phase two of the Royal London Hospital, part of the £1bn Barts and The London Redevelopment.

Finally, as always, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our staff for their continued commitment and support, without whose hard work we would not be the successful company we are! So here's for a more rewarding 2013!

Roger J Carlin
Managing Director

Welcome to our new revamped website which we hope you will find informative and user friendly.

We would welcome any constructive feedback on the website to help us in making it an effective communications medium.
BSI UKAS ISO 9001:2008In early 2009 we decided to formalise our management system and bring it into line with current thinking. Although a very good system, it had developed organically over our thirteen year history and lacked the cogency required of a modern day, forward looking organisation such as ours. In June we carried out a review with the help of an external consultant, resulting in an ambitious six month programme for achieving registration being instituted.
We chose the British Standards Institute as our accreditation body and after a “desktop” review (stage one assessment) in November, they carried out a full review of our systems (stage two assessment) in December 2009.
The four day review took in both the Staines office and a couple of sites, primarily the Royal London Hospital (RLH) project. The Christmas break slowed the review process, however, in January 2010 we received confirmation of our certification.
Achieving quality assured status to the latest guidelines builds on the development work done earlier in the year where Ashford secured CHAS Accreditation and SafeContractor Approval.
We would like to thank all our staff for their efforts in making this happen, particularly Mark Todd and his team at RHL and Uzma Ahmed and Jim Rees at the Staines office.
